Event Description: The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association will be hosting its first annual Veterans’ Celebration at Thursday Night Farmers Market on November 12, 2009. This event is intended to honor the more than 25,000 veterans in our county. The evening will be dedicated to activities, music, exhibits, booths and information related to the branches of the military and the public is invited to participate. Planed activities include a color guard procession and posting of colors, proclamations and pronouncements by local dignitaries and awarding of an honor to the county’s oldest veteran. The Downtown Association is seeking to discover who in SLO County might be the oldest person who is also a veteran to receive this honor.
